Alice POV
“Jasper,” I whispered, which was perhaps a hasty mistake of mine. Jasper roared into action and pounced forward until his chest was pressed to Carmen's back.
“Release her!” He threatened.
The twins stepped into each other's bodies and expanded into a singular, stronger being - a good five feet taller than Emmett. But Emmett wasn't phased. He was always ready for a good smack down. He growled into the snarly face of the twin and cracked his knuckles, begging for a reason to break it against his jaw.
“Stop,” I whispered, wobbling forward weakly.
But Carmen wouldn't stop. And just as the twin turned for Jasper and snatched his shoulders, Jasper retaliated and grabbed Carmen by the throat. Her shrill scream, as a cold path of stone crept out from between Jasper's fingers, made the Twin jump backward in aversion and fall out of each other's bodies. They split in two, and with eyes as wide as the moon, darted around Emmett and flew off.
Almost immediately, I felt my limbs roar to life again, just as Carmen's body cast itself and trapped her scream inside.
